We're only six issues in and
Hawkeye is one of my favorite ongoing series. Writer Matt Fraction is taking an approach that worked so well for
Green Arrow in the 80's by taking this archer out of his costume and having him deal with more down to earth problems. Set in New York the series co-stars the other
Hawkeye, Kate Bishop from
Young Avengers. I love the dynamic Fraction creates between Clint Barton & Kate, proving that all opposite sex pairings don't have to been romantic. David Aja is delivering some of the most incredible art of his career and Javier Pulido killed it on his two issues. The first collection won't be out until March 2013, but all the current issues are
available online. Make sure you pick up January's issue #7 which deals with Hurricane Sandy & the royalties go to Sandy relief.

This month Rick Remender ended his 35 issue run on
Uncanny X-Force. With his final "Final Execution" arc he delivered 11 fast paced issues putting our favorite mutant black ops team through the ringer. A new Brotherhood of Evil Mutants along with an unexpected trip to the future allowed Remender to really give these characters a chance to shine. It's amazing that a book about assassins and revenge provided some of the most touching moments of the year. Phil Noto was responsible for most of the arc's art and I hope we'll be seeing a lot more Marvel work for him in the future. The first half of "Final Execution" is already in bookstores and you can pick up the
entire arc digitally.

This year BOOM! Studios released
Supurbia focusing on the Real Housewives of Earth's greatest super-team, the Meta Legion. Writer Grace Randolph & artist Russell Dauterman take us inside the family life of superheroes. How does Night Fox's wife deal with his affair with former sidekick and total hunk Agent Twilight ? Is Sovereign's wife Hella Heart really reformed? Could Batu's son Eli really be the first male Daughter of the Bright Moon?
Supurbia is whole lot of fun with plenty of action, attraction and adventure. The four issue mini-series has been collected and the first two issues of the ongoing series
are out now.

Peter David's
X-Factor has consistently been one of my favorite titles for years now. If you're an X-Men fan looking for something a little offbeat then you can't find anything better. This year we got Havok & Polaris joining the team, Madrox jumping around alternate realities and Shatterstar dealing with home-made superheroes. David did an excellent job with the "Breaking Points" storyline which dismantled the team and reassembled them for the future. X-Factor is also one of the few superhero titles with an openly gay couple, Rictor & Shatterstar. You can pick up all
20 issues released this year and the "Breaking Points" collection will be out in March 2013.

Ex Machina. This year he introduced the sci-fi epic
Saga with artist Fiona Staples. The book follows the adventures of two soliders trying to stay alive and raise a baby while being hunted across the unvierse.
Saga is sure to be another classic title and Fiona Staples is the next big thing. The first collection is available in stores and issue #8 was
just released.

This year a lot of the Marvel titles were consumed by the massive
Avengers Vs. X-Men event. Writer Jason Aaron pulled off the almost impossible job of keeping
Wolverine & The X-Men on track while still being right in the middle of this crossover. The quirky students of The Jean Grey Academy continued to grow while their faculty kicked some ass. I love seeing what Aaron does with characters like Quentin Quire, Kid Gladiator, Broo, Idie & Genesis.
X-Statix fans have to check out the Doop centered
issue #17 with artist Mike Allred. Three collections are in stores (with a fourth available in January) and all 22 issues are
available digitally.

Glory got her start as part of Rob Liefeld's 90's Image Comics revolution. This year as part of a line-wide revamp,
Glory got rebooted by writer Joe Keatinge & artist Ross Campbell. The title embraces the main character's violent side, placing her in between two warring alien races. Keatinge has done a great job expanding the supporting cast and introducing new characters you actually care about. I'm a huge fan of Ross' art and I love how ultra-muscular and vicious he makes
Glory. If you're looking for an over the top
Wonder Woman then the new
Glory is the book for you. The first collection "The Once and Future Destroyer" is out now and you can read the first issue
online for free
